Our Journey

Welcome to First Step Montessori

First Step Montessori School was started in April 2014 to provide the right type of education for children between 2½ and 6 years. The school has adopted the Montessori approach for its sound educational principles.

It is run by Mrs. Anuradha Gurusamy, who holds an International Diploma in Montessori Studies and was awarded State Rank Holder by the International Accreditation Organization (IAO), USA.

We offer a clean environment for children to work and learn through exploration. The stimulating environment helps children actualise their latent talents and achieve their full potential. Value-based education, introduction to our culture through celebration of festivals, personal attention and close monitoring of every child's progress are our special features.

Our Mission

To stimulate child development emotionally, intellectually and physically toward each child's full potential — letting them learn at their own pace in an atmosphere of respect and understanding.

Our Vision

A child-centric world where the natural curiosity and love for knowledge — kindled in the first six years — guides children to keep learning long after the classroom.

Our Philosophy

A child-centric world where the natural curiosity and love for knowledge — kindled in the first six years — guides children to keep learning long after the classroom.

What We Believe

Little Values, Big Hearts

Respect for the Child

Every child is respected as an individual — different from adults and from one another.

Self-Motivated Learning

We cultivate the child's natural desire to learn rather than fill them with pre-selected facts.

Harmony & Community

Children become harmonious in movement, independent in work and helpful with one another.

Cultural Roots

Festivals, traditions and Indian heritage — taught alongside the best of Western values.

Hands-On Discovery

Specially designed Montessori materials let little hands learn through real, concrete experience.

Personal Attention

Close monitoring of every child's progress — because no two children grow at the same pace.
